SVE IN POLONIA – Cercasi volontari over 25 di sesso maschile
General description
We have 3 different projects. All projects are situated within 3 city (Trójmiasto- Gdynia, Sopot, Gdańsk) area, which is quite famous because of its tourist facilities. There are 3 separate flats available for EVS volunteers. In each flat are tree rooms where 3 volunteers stay so that each volunteer has got their own bedroom and share kitchen, bathroom with other EVS volunteers. The flats are situated quite close to the means of transport. The volunteers are getting ticket for the transport to get from the flat to work place. Apart from pocket money, they are getting also money for food each month.
Description of the project
The project is about work with children and youth from “difficult families”. The volunteer will have the opportunity to work with children and teenagers of different age and to organize, together with the group leaders working in the centers, different activities such as handmade stuff, cooking activities, sport etc.
In summer holidays the volunteer will have the opportunity to take part in different camps for children and youth – as an assistant of a group leader or a person responsible for sport and/or music activities. We go on a different kind of camps as stationery camps with children, walking tours with youth, canoe camps.
We would like our volunteer to help us in all different kinds of activities. At the same time we are open for their suggestions and ideas. We are especially interested in things connected with their culture – national dances, songs, food and games for children typical for the country the volunteer comes from.
Our volunteer should be an active, open-minded and creative person, who likes to work with children and youth and who knows how to get into touch with them (or at least is not afraid of that). Such interests as sport, music, dance or any other kind of passion with which volunteer can infect young people are also appreciated.
Past volunteers said…
Susanne: My tasks have been to work with children from pathological families having problems with alcohol. The main task was to help to carry out homework and studying for exams. Together with other workers we organized different activities for these children in their free time. My themes of my activities have been ‘Art and Culture’, so
exceptionally playing different games with children and to organize some art exercise was important.
Sandra: My Service contained working with children and youngsters in the age from six to nineteen. I helped the children with their homework and prepared activities for them in cooperation with my work coordinator. Other tasks like preparing meals and helping to keep the working place clean and some occasional work (preparing some festivals, meetings etc.) were part of my project as well.
Kaan: I worked with children between 3 and 5 years old and 7 and 12 years old. Children care, helping at lunch time, looking after them. Leisure activities, going out to park, games, manual activities, sport activities, painting and drawing. Teach turkish words, games.
Florian: My EVS was about taking care about children coming from families with social or/and economical difficulties. The childs with I worked were from 5 to 13 years old. I worked with an other volunteer and our activities were play with the childs to different games like build a ‘’house’’ or play football. We could also help them with their homework. During the weekend, I made some different activities with the other volunteers, like bowling, travel to Hel, going in bars and clubs…
Isa: I work in a center of Caritas where come children and youth from problematic family, like alchoolism and unemployment. They need a place where to stay, keep away from the street and from difficoult family atmosphere. We help them in the homework because they need someone that control their livel and motivate them to learn. We also give them something to eat. We do some art and sport activities with them. With the youth is a bit different: they don’t need always help with homework, so with them we do different activities in each day of the week. On Monday there’s the art activities, on Tuesday the sport ones, on Wednesday the cook activities and on Thursday we speak about important arguments like alchool, drugs and so on.
