SCADENZA 5 APRILE

Internship at the WWF International office for Eastern Europe (WWF Danube-Carpathian Programme, based in Vienna) on Research and support for WWF’s engagement with business & industry in Eastern Europe
Background:
WWF’s mission is to stop the degradation of the planet’s natural environment and to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature, by

– conserving the world’s biological diversity,
– ensuring that the use of renewable natural resources is sustainable and
– promoting the reduction of pollution and wasteful consumption.

Changes in corporate practice are essential if there is to be real progress in tackling global warming, moving to renewable energy systems and clean technologies, securing biodiversity as well as ensuring the sustainable use of commodities or natural resources.

Hence, WWF engages in challenging and innovative business partnerships not only to provide conservation benefits that help us achieve our goals, but also give us the opportunity to increase business commitments to sustainable development and environmentally sound corporate practices.
Our corporate partners represent the very best in corporate responsibility and environmental best practice – but also include companies with a poor or mixed environmental record where there is a real potential for positive change.

WWF’s approach to working with business is constructive and solutions-oriented focusing on:

– Promoting market change
– Improving environmental performance and delivering conservation benefits
– Generating support for conservation work
– Promoting environmental awareness
